When Tush Comes To Shove

There are no words to even tell about it- a picture is worth a thousand words.

Are they all yours?

Every morning me and all 4 kids take a little outing together: park, grocery store, Michaels, library, etc. Almost every single day when we are out I have someone say to me, "Are they all yours?" Really. I'm not kidding. I've had one variation of "Oh, looks like you're babysitting today." I guess we are just a sight to be seen. Yes, it's true that not many people have 4 kids here in NorCal. The majority have 2, some crazies have 3, and then there are the few 'insane' of us that have 4. Maybe it's because my kids are so close in age that people just can't believe I'd do this to myself. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!! If I had to do it all over again, I would have it the same way. Sure, it's a handful, but I'm happy with the way we are. Everybody better watch out if baby #5 comes- we'll be put on the nightly news. How could you not love little faces like these:

"Our house is a very very very fine house"

Finally! It's official! After 2 years of back and forth of 'we can't buy it' and 'we can't sell it to you' we bought this house. We had been renting and wasn't sure if this was where we were supposed to end up. But Heavenly Father created a way for us to be able to stay here- so we are! We feel so lucky and blessed. Here's a picture of it. Okay, and until I took the picture I never realized how BIG the tree was. Oops. We'll have to do something about that.

"Makes me want a hot dog real bad" (Legally Blonde)

Right before Spencer was born we took away all of Andi's pacifiers because we didn't want to deal with so many of them around the house. So she hasn't really thought of them for a few months. Well, the other day we caught her sneaking into his pacifier jar. She had one in each had and was sucking the third. And she wasn't just play sucking the pacifier like pretending to be a baby. She was for reals sucking on it. So now every once in a while we'll catch her hiding behind the chair sucking on one. Luckily she doesn't cry or fuss when we take it away. The need to suck must still be there. It reminds me of the quote from Legally Blonde "Makes me want a hot dog real bad." Just substitute it for "Makes me want a pacifier real bad."

No Name

Do you remember in junior high in p.e. class and you were put into a team. Then you had to come up with a team name. And EVERYONE chose "the no-names" as their name. And everyone always thought that was so funny. I guess I'm still not over the funniness of it since that what I titled my blog today. Moving on. . . Ainslee's eye is getting better. On Sunday the swelling finally went away. We had our bishop, who is an ER doctor, look at it because that morning Cory and I felt something hard moving under her eye. Cory thought it was maybe a broken bone. But Bishop Dr. said it was just a blood clot and it'd probably go away soon. So in honor of Ainslee's 'shiner' here is a picture of her 1 week after getting the black eye. It's a beautiful color of hot pink. We try and match her outfits to it. I think she likes the attention it gives her.

Is there anything better?

Not that this is testimony meeting or anything, but I have to tell of an experience I had. I was sitting in gospel doctrine listening to Cory teach (he's amazing by the way). A very simple feeling and thought came to me. "I am truly and deeply happy." Weird, I know. I have 4 healthy children. I have a wonderful husband. We were sealed in the temple for eternity. We have a roof over our heads and we have food on our tables. What can be better than that? Sure, I'd love to have more and better- who wouldn't? But really you can't take stuff with you when you go anyway. I guess I have a great inner joy with my life and it feels so good!

Not a baby anymore

I am so sad today. Spencer cut his first tooth! He's not a baby anymore. He's just 2 days shy of his 6 month birthday. I know it's just a tooth, but you know how it goes: first a tooth, then crawling, then walking (well the other kids did this and then got their first teeth), then they start school, and before you know it they're off on their own. The first tooth is the first domino to start falling. It's happening so fast!

On Monday we were at a water park for a birthday party. The kids were having a great time running through the sprayers while I was chatting with a friend. Then I heard Ainslee crying and Cory calling me. I ran over and saw Ainslee's eye very swollen and blue. She had apparently run into another kid- hard.

So here she is 12 hours after the accident.

And here she is almost 48 hours after the accidental bumping. Ouch!

Jumping on the bandwagon

Well I just think it's a great idea- this whole blogging thing. It's amazing what we can do now through computers. I remember when we logged onto the internet right at the beginning of the whole hub-bub. Scott, Steve, and I put movie quotes into our computer so that whenever you pressed any button something funny was said. Mom was so embarrased when Tom Cruise would yell, "I love black people" when she hit Enter (Jerry McGuire). We've come a long way since then- 1995ish. So I love checking up on people and seeing what they're up to. It's a great way to keep in touch even if hundreds of miles may separate us. I'm gonna be a poser and take your great ideas and turn them into a blog on behalf of my family. Good luck to me. Is this going to be hard to keep up on? I guess time will tell.

"How do you put pictures on this thing..." by Jessie Rice

This is a test of the Rice Blog Broadcasting Network. Again, this is only a test!

"Okay, it is not as hard as I thought."

Jessie is busted :)
